Addressing the planetary emergency requires transforming the current extractivist food system.
The documentary accompanies a new food hub under development in Berlin, the LMP (LebensMittelPunkt)-food hub, that has the potential to be a centrepiece of the necessary social-ecological transformation. Food from organic, regional and regenerative farming is brought directly to the city through a community-supported agriculture (CSA) model. The food is delivered to and picked up from the LMP-food hub, where it can also be processed, cooked and enjoyed together in a neighbourly community, where farmers sit at the table with their urban customers.
A group of young scientists is measuring the social and environmental impacts and benefits of the new equitable and sustainable food system and figuring out how to scale it in the little time remaining to both mitigate and adapt to climate change.
